Up and packing up to head off for Kakadu. A decent drive, about 2.5-3 hours or so. Quite scenic though, we spotted dingoes, a fully skun buffalo (ew!) and some pretty cool scenery. Along the way we stopped off at Adelaide River Cruises to experience the Jumping Crocs Cruise. My goodness those creatures are sooo creepy. They leapt from the water to eat the meat dangled above them. One swam alongside us and Rory leaned close, I could hear it taking enormous deep inhales - she must have smelled good - and I pulled her away from the side. Really unsettling. We survived it though, and the kids thought it was a pretty cool experience. We stopped of at Jabiru for petrol, looked at the Mamukala wetlands and originally had planned to free camp but Mum didn't feel safe and I wanted air conditioning which was only possible when connected to mains power at a park so we landed early at the caravan park at Kakadu and set up there.
