Today was our free day in Venice. We were up and out the door early, and straight onto a vaparetto to the island of Murano. We watched some glassblowers in the factory and were amazed at how they worked together knowing one another's moves and moving lightly to make beautiful glass chandeliers. We shopped a lot in the showroom before boarding another Vaparetto to the island of Burano. This was one of my favourite parts of the trip. Beautiful little town full of colour!
The afternoon was spent wandering the streets of Venice again, buying masks and more souvenirs, and enjoying the best champagne strawberry spritzer I've ever had! We had a huge lunch of seafood at a restaurant recommended by a friend - fresh and delicious this was a stand out meal. Out for dinner that night and then drinks at the bar with new friends. Wonderful time.
